Privacy Policy

Album Radar is a new-album discovery app that aggregates professional music reviews. We take privacy seriously: the app requires no registration, does not track users, shows no ads, and never uploads your personal information to any server.

What We Collect

We do not collect any personally identifiable information. The app includes no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no backend server for personal data.

How Your Data Is Handled

The app fetches the weekly album list from a public static JSON file (the same public data served on this website) and caches it inside the app sandbox for offline browsing. Your saved albums (Want to Listen / Listened) and settings are stored locally on your device (SwiftData / UserDefaults) and never leave it.

Remote Content

Album cover images are loaded from remote URLs and cached locally. To request these public images, your device sends standard network requests to the corresponding CDNs, which may include routine network information such as IP addresses (handled under the third-party CDN's own policies).

Notifications

The weekly new-album reminder uses iOS local notifications: after you opt in, they are scheduled on your device with no remote push service involved. You can turn them off at any time in System Settings.

External Links

The app provides deep links to Apple Music and to the review websites. Once you leave the app, those providers' own privacy policies apply, and we have no control over their data handling.

Data Retention & Deletion

All in-app data — cache, saved albums and settings — lives on your device. Deleting the app removes it entirely; you can also clear the cache manually inside the app.

Children's Privacy

The app collects no personal information of any kind, so there is no child-directed data collection. The same minimal data policy applies to users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If our privacy practices change, we will update this page and revise the effective date. Material changes will be announced in-app.
